The flash mob everyone knew about

Several hundred folks came to the Tucson Mall for a “flash mob” to sing Handel’s Messiah but because nearly everyone in the mall was a singer, it wasn’t really much of a surprise…more like a big singalong with friends. Still it was fun and I did see a few surprised faces. And one woman had tears – so it was worth it. Several members of Arizona Repertory Singers were surrounding me. Here’s the video I made of it…

  1. Lovely!

  2. David,
Thanks! This is the 3rd one of these sudden outbursts of apparently impromptu (but actually well rehearsed) Hallelujah choruses that I’ve seen. Was it a new thing this holiday season in the USA? One of my cynical Aussie friends says, of this trend, “The Americans get some things right.” I agree!
