I was there…

…for the premiere of We Were Here last night at the Castro Theater in San Francisco. Here’s a little film clip of Rufus Wainwright and Matthew Simmons opening for the film and the accolades the audience gave the filmmakers David Weissman and Bill Weber…

We Were Here is an excellent film about the AIDS era in San Francisco as told by a handful of people who lived through it. In a way it’s a requiem both touching and uplifting. It also serves to illustrate for the younger generations what these folks lived through – the Holocaust of their times. Good job David & Bill!

As a side note, it was fun to see Ed Wolf and Guy the flower guy, both folks I’ve known for years, telling their stories.
