This and that in Austin

Saw this guy’s work yesterday at the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin. His name is Kenneth Tin-Kin Hung, a New York artist. I was shocked to see such imagery in a Texas museum— George Bush taking a dump and producing Condoleeza Rice. Wow, it was love at first sight. (I had to pinch myself — was I really in Texas watching this?)

Now why is it that every damn thing in a museum has to be sponsored? Don’t real estate developers have any dignity or were they unwittingly placed above a urinal? Perhaps they had a good financial year and were feeling a little flush?

I was just wondering where I could store my unicorn for the summer while I’m traveling.

Went bat watching on the Congress Street bridge tonight. The wind was a little too fierce that the bats were kind of flying backwards. So I watched the people watching the bats…

A late night ice cream at Sandy’s:

Next day, Tom and I went to the Blanton Museum which has a really strikingly stark lobby…

Much of the first floor is covered with a bowling-ball like acrylic…

Planter beds…
