Food cart craze

Some observations on fast food dining. In Portland, the groovy little food carts have left places like the greasy big chains going wanting for business. But they do have their loyal patronage…

The food cart craze has taken off. Three years ago there were just a few locations where you could sit in a parking lot converted into cottage industry food courts. Now they’re in every neighborhood. Here’s a little video I made of the Belmont lunch carts…

Americans hold their mobility and their entrepreneurship dear to their hearts and these food carts seem to feed the fascination for both.
