Remembering Thomas Kinkade

I published this back in April, 2009. It has been my most popular blog entry ever. Kinkade just died at the age of 54. Now he will be immortalized. The paintron saint of cheese. Here’s my tribute to his life’s work…

A collection of Hitler’s art is to be auctioned this month at the Mullock’s auction house in Shropshire, England. Looking at his work, I discovered that his work strongly resembled some work I had seen before. Where was it? Oh, the shopping mall!

Is American artist Thomas Kinkade the reincarnation of Hitler? Their work both spoke to the masses. Kinkade is the painter of light. Hitler was the prince of darkness. They were both Christians in times of their own perceived moral crises. They both had simple visions in a complicated world.

From Kinkade’s website:

“Coming from a modest background, Kinkade emphasizes simple pleasures and inspirational messages through his paintings.”

And, they were both painters and now you can buy both for your living room. Hitler’s work goes on the auction block April 23. Kinkade’s work is 20% off…enter your spring promo code at checkout.
